Canada, I had to search for a replacement. I came across La Roche-Posay's 'Effaclar Mat' which claims to be a daily moisturizer for oily skin.youtube.com I had hoped that it would be almost identical to the Simple moisturizer, but it ended up being quite the opposite. For one: it's a gel, not a cream. It also has a lovely scent which reminds me of limes. Second: it barely moisturizes.youtube.com The first time I used this, I had applied it to my whole face and after it sunk in, any slightly dry areas instantly became VERY dry. My whole face just felt slightly tight and any hint of oil was completely gone. I feel my skin absorbing all the holy goodness of moisture.

Not with this though. It absorbs all oil (similar to blotting paper) and leaves your skin feeling very matte. The matte effect lasts quite a long time, definitely over 5 hours. I think this would be ideal only for those with very oily skin or for those who want to apply it to specific oily spots, such as the t-zone. It's also great for nights out when you wish to avoid any hint of shine. It's not a bad product, but I don't think it should be called a moisturizer and definitely shouldn't be used on a daily basis. However, this will definitely be useful during the summer when the humidity rises. It's also a great alternative if you hate using powders and want a more natural finish to your skin. I'll probably try out Bioderma's version next and see how it compares. If you have any recommendations, please let me know!

Who is it for? Bioderma Cicabio Creme | Bioderma Repairing Creme is for those who have acne or irritated skin and want something to soothe the skin and repair it. Mix in with your moisturizer and apply one face. Comes in s small tube with a nozzle to dispense. Fluid texture spreads easily. I mix it up with my sunscreen/moisturizer and apply. If the skin is very irritated, I aptly this as is. I am a TOTAL FAN f this cream. If I get breakouts or get irritated /sensitive skin this product is heaven sent, trust me. It so gentle and within two days it works its magic to soothe and heal my skin. In fact, I have started using this every alternate day mixed with my morning sunscreen and it has kept breakouts at bay. Absolutely fantastic product and a MUST HAVE! 1. It gets sold out easily online! In the blink of an eye! This has to be my absolute favorite product for healing skin and acne.

I first heard about Bioderma’s Crealine H20 on one of Lisa Eldridge’s Youtube videos. As you know, I absolutely adore the lady and the amazing work she does. I stumbled upon her work and her videos when Kahani blogged about discovering this very talented makeup artist. She used this product called Bioderma, which looks like water in a fat mineral water bottle. I’ve been on the hunt for this elusive makeup remover in Australia ever since. No luck then because it just wasn’t available in Australia. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to buy this online just yet because all of the US-based online stores that do stock this only sell them in bulk, in at least 500ml bottles. What if it doesn’t work for me?

I didn’t want to commit to such a large bottle if it does not work. Lady luck smiled upon me when I was invited to an intimate brunch by the Bioderma rep in Australia as an introduction to the brand. Finally, it’s going to be available here! I was kindly given a 250ml bottle to try out. It was as though a cloud has lifted. I finally know what the hype on this Bioderma Crealine H20 is all about. And by George, I love it. The 1st gentle daily cleansing and makeup removing water for very sensitive to intolerant skin, skin prone to redness.

Cleanses impurities and removes makeup thanks to the power of its micelles. Soothes the skin thanks to the calming and decongesting effect of the cucumber. Relives immediately and lastingly sensations of overheating, tightness and discomfort. Guarantees high cutaneous and ocular tolerance. Non-rinse, soap-free, fragrance-free, alcohol-free, paraben-free. Physiological pH, non-comedogenic, hypoallergenic. This really does look like water in a bottle. I pour the makeup remover into 2 cotton pads until they are about 70% soaked, and then put them over my eyes. Just like how Lisa Eldridge does it. Liquid eyeliner and waterproof mascara take a little longer to remove, and usually another cotton pad is needed to fully remove everything. Next I would use another two cotton pads with the Crealine H20 to remove my foundation. This is a lot easier to remove. It leaves the skin feeling mighty refreshed and clean.

Here’s what I really love about this miracle water - it does not sting the eyes at all. It’s so gentle that I can be putting the cotton pads with the makeup remover on my eyes, when I still have contact lenses on, and I wouldn’t feel even a hint of a sting on my eyes. Many a time I have to use makeup remover on a cotton swab to remove eyeliner residue on my waterline, and even with gentle makeup removers, this action still stings the eyes. I did not experience any discomfort when using a cotton swab with the Crealine H20 on the waterline.

The way to use the Bioderma Crealine H20 is not to rub the makeup off, but to press a soaked cotton pad on the areas and gently press and massage the area. Leave it on for at least 5 minutes if you can, and then very gently, coax the makeup off with the cotton pad. No rubbing is required, which is vital for the delicate skin around the eyes. Want to see something even better? Let’s say you have ball-point pen marks on your skin (as we sometimes do, when we need to quickly write a phone number on our palm). I kid you not! It’s good enough to remove tough pen marks (only for ball-point pens though; I’ve tried it with inky gel pens, and they don’t work :P), yet so gentle on sensitive skin. It’s a contradiction that both baffle and fascinate me.

Will I purchase this once the current bottle is done? Oh, no doubt about it. In fact, I’m already planning on getting a second bottle just to stock up. If you have not tried the Bioderma Crealine H20 before, I highly recommend that you do. There’s a reason this is so loved by makeup artists and celebrities, and now I know why. Why, a bottle of Crealine H20 is sold every 8 seconds in the world! Bioderma is currently stocked in a few pharmacies in Victoria and New South Wales. In a few weeks, you should be able to head on to the Cosmetiques de France website (it’s a Melbourne-based company and also the official distributor of Bioderma in Australia), where they will be selling [https://biodermaindia.com/ Bioderma products online]. I shall update you when the website is live. 39.95 for 250ml. At the moment, I don’t think Bioderma Australia will be stocking the 500ml or 1-litre bottles, but I really hope they will in future because it will be more cost-effective. It’s not cheap, but it might be something worth checking out if you have very dry and/or sensitive skin, or if you have problems finding a good eye makeup remover that do not sting your eyes.

Micellar water you rinse immediately, just like any facial wash or cleanser. But that doesn’t apply to toners. Even the structure is not the same. Micellar water has an oily texture, which is responsible for removing makeup. But, on the other hand, toners aren’t oily. Even so, both are perfect for any skin type. So that’s a notable common characteristic. So which product is better in terms of skincare? It’s only natural to raise this question. Toner and micellar water do an excellent job of cleaning the face. But there has to be some kind of superiority between the two. Both provide exceptional cleansing properties. Even so, it’s the toner that ranks as more efficient. And why is that? Cause a toner cleanses your skin thoroughly. Simply by doing away with all impurities! As for micellar water, it acts more like a makeup remover. So it’s not such a suitable choice for daily facial cleansing.

I know, I know, I need to stop buying every new micellar water that I see but I just couldn’t resist trying out what Simple had to offer on the micellar front. A quick run through; the Garnier micellar has been my favourite of the ones I have tried for about a year now but the Soap & Glory has the most power behind it. I think this is pretty much on par with Soap & Glory on the power front, which, is amazing. I have mentioned this in a favourites video before, here and in that video I said the Garnier was still my favourite but after using this for a while now I think I have changed my mind. This is really a one sweep wonder. It removes makeup effortlessly and I like using it in the morning after cleansing to really refresh and hydrate my face. I love Simple as a brand, especially their Toner and love that they have bought out a micellar water.

Micellar water has probably been on your skin-care radar for the past few years as a makeup remover, but it turns out it’s also good for your hair. What is it exactly? A fancy name for something simple: tiny beads of oil molecules that float in soft water, which attract dirt and makeup so you can wipe them away. Pantene Pro-V’s new shampoo and conditioner pair the moisturizing and cleansing benefits of the liquid with its iconic Pro-V nourishing vitamin blend and antioxidants. Pantene’s Micellar Gentle Cleansing Water Shampoo is pH-balanced for gentle and effective cleansing, and it’s made without dyes, harmful parabens, or moisture-blocking silicones. The Micellar Gentle Moisturizing Milk Conditioner is a lightweight milky cream that goes deep beneath the surface of hair to deliver moisture directly to strands instead of sitting on top of the hair and weighing it down. Like the shampoo, it doesn’t contain parabens, or dyes.

I saw Liza Soberano's commercial of this product and liked that it's not just a cleanser with 0% alcohol but also uses a Micellar Water to effectively get rid of dirts and pollution for a bright, soft & smooth skin. Extra White - it's formulated with Pearl Extract and Licorice that help brighten complexion with regular use. H-balanced, free of alcohol, paraben, fragrance, silicone & colorant. Application : Use with cotton ball pad and gentle wipe over face. What is MicellAir or Micellar Water? It's made of Micelles - a microscopic cleansing oil molecules that lifts out impurities without drying out the skin. When using Micellar Water you don't need to over rub your face unlike with the typical facial cleanser.

I think my cucumber peel extract is from Windy Point Soap. It's a powdered extract, so it makes everything kind of greenish-brown, which wouldn't be too bad if it didn't also have a tendency to separate out. And my cetrimonium chloride is from Creations from Eden. Regarding your question about "neutralizing" the surfactant, no, I have never heard of such a thing. Normally they are rinsed off and that is how they work. When it comes to micellar water, the idea is that you use an incredibly low concentration, sometimes less than 1%, and at that concentration it is safe to leave on the skin. Surfactants are essentially neutralized when they attach to dirt and oil. I didn't love the micellar waters I made with rose water and orange blossom water, they were a bit too smelly when I just didn't always feel like smelling those scents. I really do prefer unscented facial products now that I've gotten used to using them. I trust you are using a good preservative in your recipe, as aloe juice can make things go bad pretty quick.

There's been a theme to some of my posts this month, all revolving around the warmer weather we've been having and finally saying hello to Summer. When it comes to cleansing I am big fan of cleansers that require warm water and flannel to be removed. And whilst there are a whole host of brilliant cleansers out there, in the warmer months you don't want one that will feel too thick on the skin and potentially clog pores causing later irritation. The Garnier Micellar Gel Wash is one of my go to cleansers when it's hot and humid. It's gel formula is lighter than other cream based cleansers and it's micellar technology grabs onto impurities and wipes them away without weighing skin down with excess product. It can be used to remove make up as well as on bare skin and is even suitable for those with more sensitive skins.

If you don't have time to a thorough cleanse or you're having a late night, micellar water is a better option for cleansing over other options such as face wipes. Simple have recently released a new version of their original micellar water. Their Water Boost Micellar Water cleanses skin as well as the original but also has the added bonus of giving skin a burst of hydration at the same time. I don't find myself reaching for a micellar as often as I do a proper cleanser but if my skin needs a refresh or it's a particularly late night, they definitely do what I need them to do.

Something about the warmer weather makes me use facial sprays a lot more than I do during the colder months. I think it's because they're very refreshing and can be taken on the go to give skin that instant boost it sometimes needs. My personal favourite is Liz Earle's Instant Boost Skin Tonic Spritzer. Containing Aloe Vera, Calendula and Cucumber this works to not only refresh the skin but soothe it at the same time. It sprays quite a large amount of product out but it doesn't leave skin feeling drenched or sopping wet. It's the most refreshing spritz I've tried and a few sprays of this whilst I'm at work instantaneously makes my skin feel revived even if the rest of me is sweating balls. Another brilliant spray comes from Pixi.

It's not my favourite spray but the citrus extracts that are woven throughout the formula are very reviving and renergising. It's bit more hit and miss spray wise and too much can leave skin feeling more sweaty than soothed but it's not the worst spray on the market. I enjoy mixing the two together, especially in the morning so that my skin feels refreshed and awakened, ready for the day ahead. A new product that I've been thoroughly enjoying not only because it's hydrating and lightweight but also because it can be mixed with other products to create a blend that meets all your skin's needs. The new Simple Hydrating Booster is a serum based product that can be added to other serums and moisturisers to add a boost of hydration.

This has been a saviour on the days where I haven't been using the Loreal as it's so easy to add to any other product I use. It's not as effective on it's own but paired with a lightweight moisturiser or a brightening serum it works wonders. I've found myself reaching for this more in the evening to rejuvenate my skin whereas the Loreal works better for me in the morning. You can just use serum to hydrate skin but I always find it best to lock it in with a moisturiser over top so skin benefits from the products layered below. And whilst in the Winter when skin is slightly drier, rich moisturisers are brilliant, lighter moisturisers are the way to go during Summer.

My go to everyday moisturiser is the Garnier Moisture Bomb Glow Enhancer Water Cream. It contains Pomegranate Extract and Hyaluronic Acid to really hydrate skin and leave it feeling hydrated all day long. It's peach colouring adds a glow to the skin which shines through make up beautifully and gives skin a lit from within look, without making you look sweaty. And because it's a water cream, it's incredibly lightweight on the skin but still effective. And for days when I haven't been wearing make up (most days), there has been another water cream that I've been thoroughly enjoying. The Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Cream is a lot like the Garnier Moisture Bomb range wherein it contains Hyaluronic Acid and not a lot else and claims to slowly release hydration throughout the day.

It's ever so slightly thicker than the Garnier which is perfect for those non make up days as it's a lot more nourishing and there is no worry about make up peeling or balling over top. A full review of this is coming Friday but I will say this has come in very handy with the hot, humid days we had at the beginning of the month. The last skincare essential for me is actually an everyday essential but during the hotter months it's especially necessary for my skin. SPF for both the body and the face is a big part of my summer routine.

As a kid I could spend hours laid out in the sun, loving the golden hue my skin would turn but as I've gotten older I've really come to hate the idea of sitting in the sun for many reasons. Having slightly reactive skin means that the wrong product can cause an instant reaction that could take a good week or two to soothe and clear. The Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Face SPF30 is one of the products that didn't cause that. It's lightweight, oil free, has UVA/UVB protection and is suitable for sensitive skins. It does have a slight white cast to it but it doesn't cause any flashback or is obvious on it's own or through make up.

I actually quite like it as it seems to even my skin out ever so slightly and makes applying product over top easier. There are two versions of this product and I'd advise going for the one that looks more brown in tone over the yellow toned one. The yellow toned one is heavier and leaves a film like feeling on the skin which essentially leaves skin feeling absolutely gross after a full day in humidity. And the other product I've been loving because it's quick and easy is the Garnier Moisture Bomb Ultra-Protecting SPF30 Face Mist. Containing the same ingredients as the rest of the Moisture Bomb Range (Pomegranate Extract and Hyaluronic Acid), this ultra fine aerosol mist offers hydration as well as protection from UVA/UVB as well as pollution. Sure such a fine mist doesn't seem like it would do a lot but it actually works and works well. Skin feel protected and hydrated but not drenched or clogged. It's perfect for taking on the go and using as a top up throughout the day and it's ability to be used over make up is just another tick in my box.

If you wake up with mascara still smeared across your eyes, it’s probably that you aren’t removing your makeup correctly. We already know the importance of removing your makeup each night but do you know which product also offers up the best results? We’re bringing to you the lowdown on micellar water versus cleansing milk. Opting for an oil-free eye makeup remover is vital because most cosmetics contain oil-based ingredients, which leaves a greasy residue. Micellar water is more than just a luxurious makeup remover and it’s hard to deny the appeal of it simplicity. But before you put micellar water on a pedestal, it’s important to note that this product is unable to remove all of the impurities from the skin.

Although it removes water-soluble cosmetics, it requires more rounds of cleaning and rubbing your skin excessively with cotton pads to remove heavy makeup. With the absence of a deep cleanse, it gives rise to the possibility of clogged oil glands, dryness and redness. Your beloved moisturisers and expensive serums also have a harder time facilitating their skincare role. Since most makeup encompasses oil-soluble particles, opting for milk cleanser could serve as the better option!youtube.com For those with dry skin, you could benefit from cleansing milk as it dissolves the surface impurities and grease without dehydrating your skin. It effectively sanitises your skin without stripping it of its natural oils, so your skin stays balanced and hydrated.youtube.com So, bottom line is, if you usually wear heavy makeup, opt for an oil-based cleanser or cleansing milk. Otherwise, micellar water is sufficient to remove light makeup.
